Centre d’histoire de Montréal (Old Montréal) Located in a former fire station, this interpretative centre traces the history of Montréal, from its foundation up to now.
Château Ramezay Museum (Old Montréal) At the heart of Montréal life for more than 300 years, the Château Ramezay has been conserving and presenting our heritage since 1895. It offers the opportunity to relive history through its permanent exhibition and its garden, and it also organises many educational and cultural activities linked to the life of Montréal’s community.
Fur Trade at Lachine National Historic Site of Canada (Lachine) This unique historical warehouse houses an exhibition that enables visitors to relive the Montréal fur epic.

Maison Saint-Gabriel (In South-West Montréal) Architectural jewel of Montréal’s past, this house was first built for receiving the King’s Wards from 1668 to 1673. Declared a monument of national interest in 1965, it was restored and transformed into a museum in 1966.
McCord Museum of Canadian History (Downtown) The McCord Museum is a public research and teaching museum dedicated to the preservation, study, diffusion, and appreciation of Canadian history. To make this heritage accessible to all, the Museum offers exhibitions, cultural activities, guided tours, school tours and publications.
Notre-Dame Basilica (Old Montréal) The Basilica is a masterpiece of Gothic Revival architecture. The magnificent interior sculpted in wood, paint and gold leaf and the boldly modern design of the Notre-Dame du Sacré-Coeur Chapel captivate hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.
Pointe-à-Callière, Montréal Museum of Archaeology and History (Old Montréal) Located on Montréal’s own foundation site, this museum highlights important archaeological remains as well as a unique collection of objects and artefacts found during the site’s excavations.
Sir Georges-Étienne-Cartier National Historic Site of Canada (Old Montréal) Only house from the Victorian era open to general public all year round. It commemorates the life and accomplishments of one of the Fathers of Confederation, Sir George-Étienne Cartier. The reconstitution of the two adjoining homes of the Cartier family also serves to recall the architectural heritage left by the upper middle class of 19th century Montreal.
